Deepening Cooperation

The over 40 years of friendly exchanges between Wuhan and Duisburg stand as a significant chapter in the China-Germany friendship. Looking across Germany, Wuhan’s cooperation with other German cities is equally vibrant and diverse. For example, the collaboration between Wuhan and Hamburg in the field of railway transportation and the partnership with Munich in automobile manufacturing are exemplary models of China-Germany cooperation.

In 2019, during her visit to Wuhan, then-German Chancellor Angela Merkel proposed the establishment of a Sino-German International Industrial Park to create a new platform for economic and trade cooperation between Wuhan and Germany.
